It is light, engaging, highlights history, architecture, Trinity’s famous alumni and touches on student life.

The tour takes a loop of Trinity campus in approximately 45 minutes.

What landmarks or attractions are included?

The Trinity Trails tour stops outside a number of historic buildings within the Trinity College Dublin campus including the Graduate Memorial Building and the Museum Building.

The outdoor walking tour starts in Trinity’s iconic Front Square and from there it takes a guided loop through the university grounds.

The Trinity Trails tour ends outside the Eavan Boland Library.

Please note: Entry to the Book of Kells and Old Library is not included in the regular Trinity Trails tour. However, visitors can choose a combined ticket that includes both the English language walking tour and the Book of Kells Experience at a reduced rate.

Is the tour guided or self-guided?

The Trinity Trails tour is fully guided and led by a Trinity student or graduate. Group sizes are a maximum of 25 participants, giving you the chance to chat with your guide and ask questions throughout the tour.

Guides are knowledgeable about the university’s 400 year history and famous past students, and are happy to share insights along the way.

 Verified A 45 min history tour of Dublin and Trinity College We did the 9 AM tour. Started on time. Excellent tour with so much history and knowledge dating all the way back to Dublin city in the 1600s and the history of Trinity College. The tour touches upon Architecture. history, progression of the college through geopolitical times, and much more. Really enjoyable 45 minutes. We finished this and then did Book Of Kells.

 Verified Insightful and fun tour of Trinity College campus Went on a tour of Trinity College led by former student Tess, who herself was a history graduate from Trinity and added a fun personal flair. Enjoyable your full of stories about what has happened on campus, as well as insights into architechtural details of the buildings. Our tour ended with admission into the library for those who had booked a combined ticket, which was a convenient way of getting to see the Book of Kells also. Recommended to book ahead as there can be a bit of waiting time otherwise! (In my case just over two hours)

 Verified Fantastic guided Trinity Experience This experience was fantastic. The energy, humor and delivery from our guide Joe was top drawer. The welcome made everyone feel involved, and the pacing through the history of this amazing university was the perfect amount of information delivered with wit and confidence. Joe was brilliant….  Verified Not to miss!! Highly recommend. Trinity college is definitely worth a visit! Very interesting history, beautiful impressive buildings and grounds. Our guide Ethan knew how to tell its story in a very pleasurable way that kept the group’s attention during the whole tour. We forgot to include a visit to the famous library, but Ethan suggested to ask his colleagues responsible for the tickets and we were able to buy tickets for just the library tour thanks to his advice. :) Wouldn’t have wanted to miss this impressive experience!
